FISH-ORIGIN CHONDROITIN SULFATE/DERMATAN SULFATE HYBRID CHAIN

It is intended to provide a novel chondroitin sulfate/dermatan sulfate hybrid chain having effects of binding to various growth factors, prolonging neurites and inhibiting blood coagulation, and a composition for treating nervous diseases. A novel chondroitin sulfate/dermatan sulfate hybrid chain is separated and purified from fishes other than bony fishes. In the case of using shark skin, the hybrid chain has an average molecular weight of 65 to 75 kDa and a sulfation degree of 0.7 or more and less than 1.20 per disaccharide molecule and contains a disaccharide GlcUA(2S)-GalNAc(4S). This hybrid chain is capable of binding to various growth factors and has effects of prolonging neurites and inhibiting blood coagulation.
