#CMT# #/CMT# The system combines local selection pages with icons giving direct access to remote sites offering goods for sale. #CMT# : #/CMT# The method for accessing information sources and services on the Web uses a communication device connected via a network to the Internet. The method includes one or several steps of displaying one selection page from amongst a number of selection pages in a tree-like configuration, with all of these pages being stored locally. Each selection page comprises a set of icons including one or more providing direct access to the information sources, and one or more providing access to other selection pages. In response to the selection of an icon on one of these selection pages, the address of the information source corresponding to this icon is then transmitted.
