Use of a plant extract that includes a therapeutically effective dose of a mixture of flavonoids rich in proanthocyanidins in the manufacture of a medicament for the prevention and treatment of migraine is disclosed. The source of the plant extract may include bark of a plant such as pine bark (Pinus radiata bark), grape seeds, green tea, etc., that have a mixture of flavonoids rich in proanthocyanidin.
