CHANNEL-SELECT DEVICE AND METHOD FOR TELEVISION SET

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a channel-select device for a television set capable of investigating the channel number and broadcasting station of a receivable channel and capable of easily returning another channel to the original channel after the channel is transferred to another channel. SOLUTION: The channel information of a broadcasting channel different from one during a reception at present is read from a memory 34 and displayed on a picture plane every time the pushing-down of an up/down channel-select key 12 for a remote-control transmitter is detected on the basis of a signal received by a remote-control receiving section 22. When the pushing-down of a decision key 13 for the remote-control transmitter is detected, a broadcasting channel during the reception at present is changed over to one discriminated by the channel information displayed on the picture plane. The channel information is erased when a key operation is not conducted for a fixed time after the up-down channel-select key 12 is pushed down. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
