There are conventionally a pet robot that distinguishes users and behaves differently for each user and a pet robot that changes, based on a behavior history of the robot itself, a behavior pattern in a stepped manner to produce the process of its growth. Provided is a robot that, when in contact with a user carrying a memory card, acquires from the memory card various kinds of information such as information for distinguishing the memory card, information on the user, and information on the history in which the user has been in contact with the robot, and the robot performs behavior to which the acquired information is reflected. By this, the robot can give the user a high-level of satisfaction.
