PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic endoscope apparatus which can connect even electronic endoscopes having their different numbers of pixels to give a hivision TV mode of image without lowered resolution by a simple construction at a low cost. SOLUTION: A DVI circuit 28 for forming a digital picture signal to output as a differential signal is set in a processor device 16 for connecting various electronic endoscopes 10 having the different numbers of CCD pixels, and a hi-vision mode exchanger 37 is detachably connected to the output side of the DVI circuit 28. The hi-vision mode exchanger 37 detects the number of pixels of the input digital image signal at a HDTV signal exchanger 44 and exchanges the image signal to a hi-vision TV signal depending on the number of pixels to output. The hi-vision mode exchanger 37 may be supplied with an electronic expansion circuit 47 for electronic expanding the image, and exchange the expanded picture to a hi-vision TV signal.
