PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately hold an image forming element with a simple constitution and also to prevent adverse influence of outgas produced from a component made of resin in a projective picture display device. SOLUTION: The projective picture display device is equipped with a picture projective engine 20. The picture projection engine 20 is equipped with the image forming element 17, a casting 19 holding the image forming element 17, and a spring for fixing 40 fixing the image forming element 17. The casting 19 has an opening 19a to which the image forming surface of the image forming element 17 faces, a positioning rib 19b positioning the image forming element 17, and spring attaching parts 19d and 19e for attaching the spring for fixing 40 to the casting 19. The spring for fixing 40 is formed of metal, and attached to the spring attaching parts 19d and 19e.
