PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a metallic bent grooved member, a method capable of finishing clean in the appearance and also using a color steel sheet as a metallic sheet material. SOLUTION: The metallic bent grooved member 1A is composed of a bottom panel 5 of a specific width, a pair of left and right side plates 6 which are bent in the same direction from both side edges of the bottom panel, and a bending plate 8 which is bent parallel to the bottom panel from the tip end of both side plates to the inside or the outside of the groove 7, wherein the bent grooved member 1A as a whole has a shape bent to the opposite side from the opening of the groove. In manufacturing this bent grooved member 1A, prescribed folding lines a, a, b, b are formed on a belt-like flat plate 9 and then, on the plate from the folding line (a) between one side plate 6 and bending plate 8 to the folding line (a) between the other side plate 6 and bending plate 8, there is formed by punching a notched part 11 for bending, with a part for joining-tongues 10a, 10b left uncut. The belt-like flat plate is then bent at each bending line, with the joining-tongues 10a, 10b superposed on the plate situated on the opposite side from the notched part 11 for bending.
