PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gravure roll capable of repairing a pin hole generated on a steel material constituting a gravure roll body, preventing corrosion of a surface of the gravure roll body, enhancing wearing-resistance of the surface and performing suitable coating, and a surface treatment method for the gravure roll. SOLUTION: A first plating layer 2 with excellent corrosion-resistance is thick-plated on a surface 1a in a circumferential direction of the gravure roll body 1, an engraving part 3 is engraved on a surface of the first plating layer 2 and a second plating layer 4 with excellent wearing-resistance is formed on a surface of the engraving part 3 engraved on the first plating layer 2.
