PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exercise assisting utensil which becomes an aid when a user exercises by holding it by both hands, by which a both arm stretched state is easy to maintain, and in addition, which can flexibly correspond to various kinds of posture occurring during the exercise, and by which enhancing effects of muscular strength can be expected as well. SOLUTION: This exercise assisting utensil 1 has one cylindrical body 2 which can elastically stretch/shrink and warp, and handles 3 fixed to both end sections of the cylindrical body. The cylindrical body preferably comprises an article which is formed by knitting a wire 5 made of a synthetic resin into a cylindrical shape. The exercise assisting utensil can be utilized for exercises, e.g., tilting or twisting the body by holding the utensil by both hands. At that time, the cylindrical body properly warps and properly stretches/shrinks, and therefore, a stretching exercise without strains can be performed, and at the same time, a light muscular strength training effect can be obtained as well.
