A method of transdifferentiating mature cells without the use of any DNA methylating agent or demethylating agent. There is provided a method comprising changing the culturing conditions for finally differentiated mature cells having the first differentiation expression type to thereby transdifferentiating the same to finally differentiated mature cells having the second differentiation expression type differing from the first differentiation expression type, characterized in that the culturing conditions are changed from the culturing conditions suitable for culturing of finally differentiated mature cells having the first differentiation expression type to the culturing conditions suitable for culturing of finally differentiated mature cells having the second differentiation expression type.
