PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high output and high resolution stepping motor inexpensively without the sacrifice of miniaturization. SOLUTION: The stepping motor comprises a magnet ring 1 of a tubular permanent magnet having an irregular shape in the radial direction formed by dividing the outer circumferential surface in the circumferential direction with the outer circumferential surface magnetized with one polarity, first and second tubular coils 2 and 3, a first outer magnetic pole 8 excited by the first coil, a second outer magnetic pole 9 excited by the second coil, and an output shaft 10 provided with an inner magnetic pole made of a soft magnetic material and secured to the inside diameter section of the magnet ring while facing at least one of the first and the second outer magnetic poles in a predetermined axial range and excited by at least one of the first and the second coils.
