PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roller for a fixing device in which the change of an outer diameter at a temperature rising is made uniform in an axial direction without impairing durability and reliability. SOLUTION: A pressure roller 19 functioning as the roller for the fixing device has a core bar 1, a sponge layer 2 formed on the core bar 1, and a coating member 3 coating the entire outer surface of the sponge layer 2, that is, an outer peripheral surface 2a and both end faces 2b in the axial direction.
