The invention relates to a film (5), in particular an embossing film, laminating film or adhesive film, which comprises at least one anisotropic polymer layer (32) consisting of a liquid crystal material that is at least partially oriented. In sa id regions, the anisotropic polymer layer (32) has linear polarising characteristics or characteristics that allow the polarisation direction to be rotated. The film also comprises one or more second regions (42, 44, 46, 47, 49, 51) that form a second security feature, the anisotropic polymer layer (32) in said regions having circular polarising characteristics.
