PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve problems such that quite a lot of time is spent for the processing to convert document data to bitmap data in a PC (Personal Computer) whose throughput is low, and so that a user should do another work, for example reading electronic mails, since the user cannot wait completion of the display. SOLUTION: Application program operating at an image display apparatus consists of a display indication part 101, an interruption indication part 102, a reopening indication part 103, an image data conversion part 100, a page image storing part 106, and a page image transfer part 107; and data is displayed on a display 30. The display indication part 101 has a function which receives a request that displays specified page from a user after initiating of application program. A user can perform another processing by a portable terminal whose throughput is low by making possible to interrupt temporarily display processing of document data and to reopen it.
