PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology of realizing power-saving even during data transmission/reception.

SOLUTION: A communication apparatus 10 disclosed herein for transmitting/receiving data and once storing the data before transmission and after reception to a buffer memory 30, includes: a buffer size calculation section 46 for determining a size of a data buffer in the buffer memory 30 for storing the data on the basis of information with respect to a data input/output speed when the data are inputted to/outputted from the buffer memory 30; and a buffer memory management control section 41 (data buffer area setting means) for setting data buffer areas in the buffer memory 30 capable of storing the data on the basis of the size of the data buffer determined by the buffer size calculation section 46.
