VOLUME REDUCER FOR PLASTICS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a volume reducer for plastics which enables the size increase/decrease of an opening sectional area of a matrix from a reference state and the appropriate adjustment of the opening sectional area of the matrix in accordance with the molding state of a delivered volume reduction product.

SOLUTION: This volume reducer 10 for plastics is equipped with a tapered compaction cylinder 10 installed in a disposal chamber 2 for disposing of plastics charged from a hopper 3 by crushing and a matrix 5 connected with the front of the compaction cylinder 10. The matrix 5 is tubular with an almost square section and constituted of matrix members 5T and 5B which are openable centering around a hinge 5H of a base end part by bringing the right/left sides of the members 5T and 5B into contact with each other. In addition, the matrix is equipped with an opening adjustment means 50 for adjusting the opening sectional area of the matrix in order to increase or decrease its size.
