DATA RECEIVER AND RECEIVING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data receiver in which instantaneous interruption of data reception is minimized at the time of switching the type of downloading data to be received while minimizing the amount of network resources being used when communication is carried out using such a protocol as the downloading data can be received after reception procedure processing.

SOLUTION: The data receiver 10 performs procedure for subscribing to a viewing/listening multicast group by user selection. A downloading data select function 131 selects an extra multicast group based on the viewing/listening multicast group. A timing monitor function 133 monitors arrival of timing for subscribing to the extra multicast group. A downloading data reception procedure function 121 performs procedure for subscribing to the extra multicast group when arrival of timing is detected.
