PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the occurrence of fixing failure and hot offset due to variation in necessary heat quantity for fixing in every print out or variation in transferring speed according to resolution of image and to avoid an increase in cost caused by setting heat resistance of a fixing apparatus 56 by supposing that the necessary heat quantity is made fairly large. SOLUTION: A transport belt unit 60 is provided between a double-sided transferring apparatus and a fixing apparatus 56. Then, a speed varying means is provided to vary the paper transport speed by the fixing apparatus 56 and the paper transport speed by a transport belt 61. Furthermore, length L1 of a transport path after transferring and before fixing from a transfer separating position P1 to a fixing receiving position P2 is made greater than a value which is obtained by subtracting dimension of an end edge side margin range in the transport direction of the recording body from the vertical dimension of A3 size paper. By these constitutions, the transferring speed, the paper transport speed by the fixing apparatus 56 and the paper transport speed by the transport belt 61 are made different.
