PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air cleaner protecting an occupant in a vehicle or a resident or equipment and material in a room from various kinds of contaminants and toxic substances, promptly removing the contaminants and the like, and safely and comfortably carrying out detecting work or removing work of the contaminants without putting on a protective mask or protective clothing even in a contaminated area. SOLUTION: The air cleaner comprises a temperature adjusting device for keeping a specified space such as a vehicular cabin or interior at predetermined temperature, and protecting detecting/processing equipment disposed in the specified space from damage due to heat; an air cleaning unit equipped with a filter device for collecting various contaminants mixed into led-in outside air, and making that harmless; an outside air lead-in device for leading in the outside air and sending that to the air cleaning unit, and keeping the inside of the specified space in a pressurized state; and a contamination degree detecting device for detecting the contamination degree of air in the specified space, and issuing warning when the contamination degree exceeds a constant value.
