<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quicken print start when a document image is read out by a document reader and printed by a printer in an image forming apparatus comprising the image reader having a function for reading the opposite sides of a document and the printer having a function for printing on the opposite sides of a sheet. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus comprises image readers SCR and ADF provided with a document reversing means 6 and capable of reading the opposite sides of a document, a printer PTR provided with a sheet reversing means 24 and capable of double-sided printing, and an image processing mode control means SCN performing double-sided printing of a double-sided document by feeding each document on a document table 1 to the document reversing means 6, reading the image on the surface of the reversed document by the image reading means SCR and feeding the document to the document reversing means 6, reading the image on the rear surface of the reversed document by the image reading means SCR and discharging the document to a document discharge tray 7, reading the image of a reversed preceding document, forming the image of image data on each page outputted from the image reading means SCR on one surface of a sheet in the order of output and feeding the sheet to a sheet reversing means 24, forming the image of image data on next page on the reversed side of the sheet and discharging the sheet to a sheet discharge tray 22. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
