PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a remote controller for karaoke that enhances convenience for the user, by informing the user of whether a musical piece to be newly released is usable. SOLUTION: The remote controller for karaoke is equipped with an operation input part composed of a touch panel for inputting characters as a search key, a display which displays the search keyword and a search result, and a search means of searching a musical piece based on a musical piece database for search. New release information on at least newly-releases songs, added songs, and distribution day is described in the musical piece database; when the search means detects information on a newly-released or added song, the newly-released song is displayed discriminatingly between a newly-released song and an added song, and when the distribution day is over and there is a newly-released song which is not distributed yet, the newly-released song is changed into an added song.
