PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new method for metal ion separation, which makes use of the characteristics of a solvent extraction, and by which metal ions are securely extracted even under the condition that a hydroxide precipitation occurs, various metal ions are separated, and a heavy metal is collected not only from water but also from soil. SOLUTION: An aqueous phase containing metal ions is mixed with a water-insoluble ketone solution in which dialkyl phosphoric acid is dissolved as an organic phase at a pH value at which metal hydroxide precipitation occurs in water, and the metal ions are extracted and separated into the organic phase.
