PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high pressure rubber hose capable of suppressing rupture failure of a wire due to fretting of a wire reinforcing layer on an inner face of a joint fitting. SOLUTION: In this high pressure rubber hose arranging a plurality of wire reinforcing layers between an inner face rubber layer 2 and an outer face rubber layer 3, the wire W constituting at least the outermost layer among the wire reinforcing layers has a cross sectional shape having flat parts 6 on upper and lower faces, a ratio of length F of the flat part 6 to long diameter D in the direction of width of wire cross section, F/D, is set to 30 to 70 %, and the flat part 6 is along a cylindrical face of the wire reinforcing layer.
