PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent burrs from being generated when a hole is perforated in a woody board. SOLUTION: In this method for treating the surface of a woody board, tropical wood 12 as a surface layer of a plywood 10 is reinforced by laminating paper 14 on the plywood 10, impregnating the paper 14 with a resin, and curing the resin. Therefore, the fiber of the tropical wood 12 as the surface layer is not torn apart significantly when the wood is bore or notched by a router or the like. Also the cut edge does not suffer generation of burrs and the paper 14 does not peel during boring work with the router or the like. In addition, the paper 14 has only to be laminated on the entire surface of the plywood 10, so that no problem occurs with regard to the slipping out of place of the paper 14.
