<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly secured individual authentication system improved in a recognition rate and a recognition processing time for good usability and capable of preventing illicit use such as spoofed use by another person in the case of theft/loss. <P>SOLUTION: This authentication device is constructed of a device 100 to be authenticated and an authentication device 200 performing user authentication. The device 100 to be authenticated includes a power source supply part 120 for supplying electric power for operating respective parts constituting the device 100 to be authenticated, a biometric information storage part 140 for storing biometric information about the user, and a communication part 130 for reading the biometric information from the biometric information storage part 140 and transmitting it to the authentication device 200. The authentication device 200 includes a communication part 210 for receiving the biometric information transmitted from the device 100 to be authenticated, an authentication information storage part 230 for storing authentication information for user authentication, and an authentication part 220 for performing user authentication by collating the received biometric information with the authentication information. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
