PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for improving a storage device especially for storing data for a long period of time and enhancing its credibility. SOLUTION: The technique for assuring genuineness of the data stored on the storage device is provided. The storage device includes a storage controller for conducting I/O operation and management operation. A time stamp corresponding to the management operation is recorded in an operation log stored in a memory. The memory additionally stores an attribute of each storage volume of the storage device.
