PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gasification apparatus whose cost is reduced and whose energy efficiency is improved. SOLUTION: This gasification apparatus is characterized by comprising a particle-heating means for heating and discharging heat-conductive particles, a downcomer for charging and lowering the heat-conducting particles heated with the particle-heating means and having a gas-recovering port in a middle site, a raw material-supplying apparatus for supplying a raw material at a site lower than the gas-recovering port in the downcomer, and a steam-supplying means for supplying steam from the lower end of the downcomer to the upper portion.
