PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an adsorption type refrigerator capable of significantly enlarging a cooling range by an evaporation chamber of a refrigeration chamber, and capable of carrying out initial cooling of cooling the refrigeration chamber in a short time. SOLUTION: The adsorption type refrigerator has the refrigeration chamber 2, the evaporation chamber 3, an adsorption chamber 5 built in with an adsorbent 51, and a conductor 7 communicating the evaporation chamber 3 with the adsorption chamber 5 via a valve 6. The refrigeration chamber 2 is composed of a thermal conductive member 1 surrounding a periphery. The evaporation chamber 3 is arranged in an outer side surrounding the periphery of the refrigeration chamber 2. The evaporation chamber 3 is composed of a first heat insulating layer 4 surrounding an outer side periphery. By transferring cold generated in the evaporation chamber 3 into the refrigeration chamber 2 via the thermal conductive member 1 composing the refrigeration chamber 2, the cooling range by the evaporation chamber 3 of the refrigeration chamber 2 can be significantly enlarged, and the initial cooling in cooling the refrigeration chamber 2 can be carried out in a short time.
