Double piston for compressor

A compressor has a double-piston consisting of an elongated core (11) with a piston (12, 13) at each end and linked by a connecting rod (11) that is parallel to the core. The connecting rod has a bearing (19) with a gudgeon pin (18) that is free to move on a cam (15) bearing (17) during the power stroke. The piston core has a centre section (31) extending between the two pistons that incorporates a gap (32) in which the connecting rod moves freely.
