<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel optical compensation sheet which controls the inclination angle of a hybrid-oriented, mesomorphic compound of an optical anisotropic layer without degrading adhesion, is superior in optical compensation function, and has view-angle widening performance, when applied to an image display device. <P>SOLUTION: The optical compensation sheet comprises a support, an orientation film disposed on the support, and the optical anisotropic layer disposed on the orientation film.
