The device has a body side holder (1) and a cooler side holder that are fastened at a body and a cooler module of a motor vehicle, respectively. The latter holder is engaged with the former holder for storage of the module. The former holder (1) definitely breaks at a predetermined breaking point (14) with a specific force effect that is exerted on the holder (1) before deformation of an inlet slot (6) of former holder and/or body. An independent claim is also included for a motor vehicle having a fixing device for fixing a cooler module with a body of the vehicle.
