FIELD: machine tool manufacture, namely methods and machine tools for turning railway road wheel pairs under body of vehicle. ^ SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of orienting profiled tool according to coaxial rotating surfaces of wheel pair; fixing it in such position relative to vehicle and working at relative motion of vehicle and supporting rails while feeding by distance determined with use of given formula. Machine tool is provided with frame- orienting mechanism mounted in housing with possibility of vertical motion and self-aligning according to coaxial rotating surfaces of wheel pair. Frame is provided with mechanism for fixing it relative to non-rotary part of vehicle. Each supporting rail is built-up one and it has central and two peripheral portions mutually spaced by intervals. ^ EFFECT: enhanced efficiency and reliability of working in simplified-design machine tool. ^ 7 cl, 3 dwg |
