<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small-sized motor capable of obtaining needed high speed rotation and the smooth start-up of rotation in starting. <P>SOLUTION: This small-sized motor comprises four field poles 42, an armature core 47 having three poles 49, and six armature windings 50 connected in series. The armature windings 50 are wound around two of the three poles 49 of the armature core 47. A commutator is provided in an armature shaft 48 for supporting the armature core 47, and the commutator is composed of six commutator pieces in each of which respective winding ends of the armature windings 50 are connected alternately.
