PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source device and image detection device suitable for fingerprint detection that uniform an emitted quantity of light while reducing power consumption and cost. SOLUTION: The light source device has a single light emitting diode chip 31, a pair of sidewalls 34 and 35 (sidewall reflector parts 35A and 35B) opposed with the light emitting diode chip 31 in between, a ceiling part 36 (ceiling reflector part 36A) positioned on the sidewall 35 so as to oppose to the light emitting diode chip 31 and to form a clearance 39 against the sidewall 34, and a side reflector 37A (flat reflector parts 38A) extended over a light projection width to both sides from the centered light emitting diode chip 31. Light emitted by the light emitting diode chip 31 partly illuminates a fingertip 1 (illuminated body) direct via the clearance 39, and light emitted by the light emitting diode chip 31 and reflected by the sidewall reflector parts 35A and 35B and the ceiling reflector part 36A is reflected by the flat reflector parts 38A to illuminate the illuminated body.
