<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust emission control system and an exhaust emission control method capable of continuously purifying particulate matter (PM) and NOx in exhaust gas. <P>SOLUTION: The exhaust emission control system S1 is provided with a first plasma generation unit 10 generating a first plasma excitation seeds by plasma, a second plasma generation unit 20 generating a second plasma excitation seeds, a NOx adsorption catalyst unit 30, a NOx selective reduction catalyst unit 40, an oxidation catalyst unit 50 at the most downstream, a reduction agent adding means 60 and ECU 70 from an upstream side to a downstream side of circulation of exhaust gas. Plasma space electric power density of the first plasma generation unit 10 is 0.8 W/cm<SP>3</SP>or less and plasma space electric power density of the second plasma generation unit 20 is 0.4-9.5 W/cm<SP>3</SP>, particulate matter and NOx are continuously purified. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
