PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve image quality of a principal object that is an object to characterize an image. SOLUTION: A CPU 411 acquires image data GD in which judging processing of principal object image data is completed, acquires a color value in the specified principal object image data and discriminates a principal object based on the color value of the principal object image data. The CPU 411 acquires a correction reference value corresponding to the discriminated principal object, analyzes the principal object image data and acquires a characteristic value of the principal object image data. The CPU 411 uses the characteristic value of the principal object image data and the acquired correction reference value to calculate a correction amount so as to reduce or cancel a differential between both and applies the calculated correction amount to perform image quality adjustment on the principal object image data.
