PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To impart a new function utilizing the characteristic of a polyphenol treatment to a fiber. SOLUTION: This fiber having high functions such as high moisture retaining, skin roughness-preventing, anti-microbial, anti-allergic and static electricity generation-preventing functions and excellent hand, and produced by preliminarily modifying the surface of the fiber in water having a polyphenol concentration of 0.1 to 10 %owf in the temperature range of 40 to 100°C and then attaching a functional polymer such as a natural protein or synthetic polypeptide.
