PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an external preparation for whitening giving little stimulation to the skin while keeping high whitening effect and having excellent usability. SOLUTION: This external preparation for whitening having improved stability of a whitening active component contains the whitening active component, a sulfur compound as a stabilizer for a whitening agent, and glycerol, a reducing sugar or their mixture as an additional stabilizing agent.
