PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently distribute meta-data by reducing the data amount of the meta-data.

SOLUTION: A meta-data distributing device 101 for transmitting meta-data is provided with an HDD 113 for storing meta-data comprising a plurality of pieces of object meta-data having object attribute information of an object in moving picture data, an ID for identifying the object attribute information and object area data showing an image display position of the object, and a transmitting part 115 for transmitting to a moving picture reproducing device 100 connected to a network first object meta-data including all object attribute information and object meta-data which has the same attribute as that of object attribute information of the first object meta-data to display an object, identifies its ID with the ID of the first object meta-data and omits the same attribute.
