<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk brake with a parking brake mechanism capable of using a compact seal member. <P>SOLUTION: The parking brake mechanism 20 to be operated by an electric motor 28 as a driving source provided outside a cylinder 13 is added to a caliper 4 having a piston 15 slidably arranged in a cylinder 13. The parking brake mechanism 20 transmits rotation of the electric motor 28 to an input shaft 26, which is turnably supported by caliper main body 6, through a seal member 25, and transmits to a rotating member 24 through a speed reduction mechanism 29 provided between the input shaft 26 and the rotating member 24, and torque to be applied to the input shaft 26 is thereby reduced. Rotation of the rotting member 24 is converted to linear motion of a liner member 21 by engaging a male screw 23 with a female screw 22 to propel the piston 15, and a pair of pads 2 and 3 are pushed to a disk 1 to generate braking force, and return of the piston 15 is regulated by friction resistance of the male screw 23 and the female screw 22.
