<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide "a region display method and a map display device" that automatically change a region name from a narrow-area name to a wide-area name during map scrolling according to the scrolling speed. <P>SOLUTION: When a map is scrolled, an area name indicating a region is displayed at a screen end, the scrolling speed of the map is varied on the basis of a scroll operation time, and the area name of the region is changed from a narrow-area name to a wide-area name according to the scrolling speed. The region name is switched by including region area names corresponding to scrolling speeds in drawing data, deciding a drawing where the center of an area displayed on a scroll screen is present, and displaying a region area name corresponding to the scrolling speed of the drawing data corresponding to the drawing at the screen end. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
