PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a proper raw material filling layer on a pallet by removing a sticking material stuck to a screen-like chute. SOLUTION: This charging device is constituted in a screen shape by juxtaposing a plurality of rods substantially parallel to the pallet width direction at an interval, and has the screen-like chute for narrowing the interval between the adjacent rod toward the chute upper side, and is provided with two sets of rod holding/traverse means movable in the pallet width direction in a state of holding both ends of the rods. The rods and/or rod groups juxtaposed in the chute longitudinal direction are alternately held by the two sets of rod holding/traverse means with every rod and/or with every rod group. A rod guide member for integrally holding the plurality of rods in the chute longitudinal direction, is arranged in at least one place in the width direction of the screen-like chute.
