Discharge gas system with elbow bridge for motor with demand-led piston capacity can work in active or passive mode depending on gas flow

The discharge gas system has a first and second bend which capture gases from an engine (12)with piston capacity if required. Both bends capture discharge gases. The elbow bridge (42) enables the discharge gas (20) to flow from the first bend (22) to the second (24) when the engine is in passive mode. The engine has a first cylinder bank (14-1,14-2,14-n) connected to the discharge gas bend by fluid flow, a second connected to second bend by fluid too, and valve (44) to control the gas flow. A control panel (40) modulates, depending on valve, whether the piston should be in active or passive mode.
