A multimedia system includes a network interface (202) for receiving network broadband signals, and a receiver (206), which receives audio signals from the interface and indicates when a call is received. A mute feature (204) is coupled to at least one of the network interface (202) and the receiver (206) such that when the call is received the audio signals from the interface may be selectively switched off to respond to the call.
