PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber cord of which the weight is reduced. SOLUTION: An optical fiber cord 10 is provided with an optical fiber 12 arranged in the center and a coating layer 14. The coating layer 14 is provided with thermo-adhesive composite filaments 16 and mixture filaments including the thermo-adhesive composite filaments and filaments 18 being not thermo-adhesive, together and is formed into a ring having a prescribed thickness by vertically arranging the mixture filaments along the outer periphery of the optical fiber 12 and causing the thermo-adhesive composite filaments 16 to adhere by heat in this state. The thermo-adhesive composite filaments 16 have reinforcing fibers 160 being core parts as high-melting-point components and have thermoplastic resin matrixes 161 being sheath parts as low-melting-point components. In this case, matrixes 161 of which the melting point is 20°C or more lower than respective melting points of the reinforcing fibers 160 being core parts and the filaments being not thermo-adhesive, are selected.
