PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a humidity sensor capable of protecting favorably a polymer electrolyte membrane from a detected gas atmosphere, when precisely detecting the humidity. SOLUTION: A protection layer 50 is provided on a surface of the polymer electrolyte membrane, and the protection layer 50 is formed of a mixture of a fluororesin water-repellent material and an imide resin material.
