PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide toner for electrostatically charged image development which eliminates the waste of a charging control agent which has been considered to be a problem so far and has superior powder flowability, transfer property, heat-resistive storage, low-temperature fixing properties, and offset resistance, and to provide an analysis method which is suitable for element analysis of elements in the toner by an X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy device. SOLUTION: Disclosed is the toner obtained, by subjecting a reaction group on the surface of toner consisting of at least binding resin, wax, and a coloring agent and bivalent or more metal positive ions to reaction, and further subjecting a salicylic acid derivative to chelate reaction with the metal, the toner being characterized in that the bivalent or more metal elements, constituting the metal chelate reaction, is detected in measurement by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy.
