<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sufficiently secure the brightness of a diffusion region of a light distribution pattern, even when lighting fixture constitution of a side insertion type is adopted, in a projector type headlamp for a vehicle having a movable shade. <P>SOLUTION: The headlamp is constituted with the movable shade 32 included between a shading position and a shading relaxation position, and a single lighting fixture is used both for a low beam and a high beam. A light source bulb 22 is interposed into and fixed at a reflector 24 from the side of an optical axis Ax extended backward and forward the vehicle, by which a backward and forward length of the lighting fixture is shortened to attain compactness. In that case, it is avoided to form a hole for insertion and fixation of the light source bulb 22 at an optical axis side region in a reflective surface 24a of the reflector 24 by inserting and fixing the light source bulb 22 at a position away downward from the optical axis Ax, by which the optical axis side region of the reflective surface 24a which is suitable for forming the diffusion region of the light distribution pattern is effectively used. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
