<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image observation device and an adjusting method of an image observation position, constantly enabling a magnified image observation of an operating part, reducing the fatigue of the operator during the operation and improving the working efficiency of the surgery as a whole even if an operator freely changes a posture. <P>SOLUTION: When the observer D sitting on a chair 4 in observing the operation part P changes the observing direction, the chair 4 on a base 2 is rotated in an observation direction of the observer D around an approximately vertical rotating center line O1 by a chair rotating mechanism 5 according to the movement of the observer D.
